Team India members wish MS Dhoni a hearty birthday as he turns 39

MS Dhoni made his India debut in 2004 against Bangladesh in an ODI.

World’s only captain to win all the three ICC events- the T20 World Cup, the Champions Trophy and the World Cup, India's MS Dhoni is celebrating his 39th birthday today on July 7.

The Jharkhand-born cricketer has had an impressive career which started with a duck against Bangladesh in an ODI in 2004.

He has scored over 4,800 runs in 90 Tests and over 10,700 runs in 350 ODIs. He has a total of 16 centuries to his name in international career and averages over 50 in ODI cricket. Add over 1,600 runs in 98 T20I matches and you have the perfect cricketer any team wants.

Apart from his exploits with the bat, Dhoni also has 829 dismissals with the gloves behind the stumps with a record 123 stumpings in ODI cricket.

Dhoni is widely regarded as perhaps the greatest finisher in limited-overs international cricket and led the Indian team to their first-ever no.1 rankings in Tests. Apart from the ICC trophy wins, he led the team to multiple tri-series victories as well, including the Men in Blue’s only such win in Australia in 2007-08.
