With no international or domestic cricket going on due to the Coronavirus pandemic, former and current cricketers are keeping themselves occupied by engaging with fans on social media.

On Tuesday (June 9), former India opener Wasim Jaffer took to social media and revealed his all-time India ODI XI.

Jaffer, who represented India in two ODIs, opted to go with Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly as his two openers. He picked Rohit Sharma as his No. 3 batsman followed by the current India skipper Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh.

MS Dhoni, the designated wicketkeeper in the side, was placed to bat at No. 6 and he was also named the captain of the side by Jaffer.

The 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was the premier all-rounder in the team, which has two spinners and as many pacers.

While Jaffer picked Ravindra Jadeja/Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble as tweakers, he chose Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah as fast bowlers.

Soon after Wasim Jaffer posted it on his Twitter handle, Harbhajan expressed surprised at the exclusion of his former teammate Virender Sehwag.

He asked Jaffer, “No Sehwag?”

To which, the former domestic cricket giant replied: “Who would you drop to bring Viru in? #HardChoices”

Sehwag is counted among the most devastating opening batsmen produced by India. In 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs at an average of 35.05 with 15 centuries and 38 half-centuries.
