Amidst the ongoing ban on all the sporting events due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, Australian wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey has on Friday (May 8) come out with his combined India-Australia T20I XI during an Instagram Live session.

Well, the Aussie star’s pick is quite surprising and of course, it was difficult for the young lad to pick a combined India-Australia T20I XI consisting of current players.

Interestingly, Carey picked Shikhar Dhawan over Rohit Sharma as the opening partner of the Australian destructive opening batsman David Warner despite the Hit-man being the only player in the world to have four tons to his name in T20I format of the game.

The right-hander has been a key member of India’s limited-overs set-up, scoring 2773 runs with an excellent strike rate of 138.78 in 108 T20Is so far.

Meanwhile, Carey’s middle-order is well equipped with Steve Smith at No.3 and Virat Kohli at No.4, while he went with wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant over the greatest wicketkeeper-batsman of the modern era MS Dhoni at No.5 and himself at No.6 in his T20I XI.

He has named only one all-rounder in Ravindra Jadeja in his T20I XI, while his pacer attack is bolstered with the inclusion of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Australian bowler Adam Zampa was given the responsibility to handle the spin bowling department in Carey's India-Australia combined T20I XI.
