On Saturday (April 18), the Indian board created a new video, promoting the idea of wearing masks.
Sharing the clip on Twitter, BCCI wrote: “#TeamIndia is now #TeamMaskForce! Join #IndiaFightsCorona and download @mygovindia's @SetuAarogya mobile application @PMOIndia @narendramodi."
Former and current superstars of Indian cricket such as Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, Smriti Mandhana, Harbhajan Singh, Harmanpreet Kaur, Virender Sehwag and Mithali Raj can be seen talking about the need to wear the mask in the video.
Last month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India had donated Rs 51 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund) to strengthen the country's fight against Coronavirus.
As of April 18, the COVID-19 cases in India has crossed 14,300 with 480 fatalities. Globally, the pandemic has claimed more than 154,700 lives and infected in excess of 2,261,300 people thus far.
