In order to flatten the curve of growing COVID-19 cases, India government decided to extend the lockdown.

The nationwide lockdown was in place from March 25 in an unprecedented measure in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic and was scheduled to end on April 14.
But to flatten the curve of growing COVID-19 cases in the country, PM Modi decided to extend the lockdown till May 3.
Taking to Twitter, Gambhir wrote: “We, the people of India, have done it for 21 days and we will do it for couple of more weeks. Please follow the lockdown guidelines #StayHomeStaySafe Together we can fight this pandemic. #IndiaFightsCorona @narendramodi @Bjp4Delhi #Lockdown2.”
As of April 14, the COVID-19 outbreak has claimed more than 120,400 lives and infected over 1,934,500 people globally.
In India, around 10,360 confirmed cases have been reported while 339 people have lost their lives thus far.
