England cricketers will avoid handshakes during the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka because of the coronavirus outbreak, confirmed captain Joe Root. Not to forget, the England cricketers had suffered flu problems during their last tour to South Africa. They are now taking extra measures on the tours.

“After the illnesses that swept through the squad in South Africa, we are well aware of the importance of keeping contact to a minimum and we’ve been given some really sound and sensible advice from our medical team to help prevent spreading germs and bacteria,” Root had said.

“We are not shaking hands with each other, using instead the well-established fist bump, and we are washing hands regularly and wiping down surfaces using the anti-bacterial wipes and gels we’ve been given in our immunity packs,” he added.

Former Australia cricketer Mitchell Johnson joked about the news. He took a funny dig at Ben Stokes' past incidents and wrote that players should try fist bump instead, but they should be cautious of Stokes who likes to punch.

“Is this a p*** take?” Johnson wrote and added, “You can jam your fist pump England hahahaha just be careful though, Stokesy might react with a sucker punch.”
