Australia is facing one of its most devastating bushfire crisis which has reportedly left 24 people dead.
Cricket icon Shane Warne is auctioning his prized 'baggy green' Test cap to raise funds for bushfire victims as fires blaze across the Australian states of Victoria and New South Wales.
As per the media reports, hundreds of fires have scorched more than 6 million hectares (15 million acres) of bushland and left 24 people dead. Moreover, the bushfire has destroyed over 1000 homes in the last few months.
Devastated by the situation, Warne on Monday (January 6) posted a message on social media which reads: "The horrific bushfires in Australia have left us all in disbelief. The impact these devastating fires are having on so many people is unthinkable and has touched us all."
In his post, the legendary spinner also announced plans to auction his beloved 'baggy green' Test cap.
“Everyone is in this together and we continue to find ways to contribute and help on a daily basis. This has lead me to auction of my beloved baggy green cap (350) that I wore throughout my test career.”
Considering Warne's on-field exploits, it is expected that the baggy green could fetch up to Aus$500,000 (USD 345,000) in the auction.
