Virat Kohli was an year away from making his India debut at the time of the video.
Meanwhile, an old video of a young 18-year-old Virat Kohli has been going around on social media, showing a much chubbier version of the now six-pack having Indian captain. Then, he was having a brilliant time for Delhi in domestic cricket and in the video, he is seen with Puneet Bisht, his Delhi teammate at the time.

In the video, Kohli is seen giving his views on Indian team selection for the 2007 ICC World Cup in West Indies under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid. “Success can be determined by how well the Indian players gel together and perform as a unit,” Kohli said in the interview.
There was a controversy at that time as chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar had made it public that Virender Sehwag was included in the team on behest of captain Rahul Dravid and Kohli said that such things should not have been made public.
“Yes, such a thing should not have been disclosed on TV. This will affect Sehwag’s morale because his performance was anyway a bit down and after this statement was put out, his confidence could have become lower. I think it’s okay on Dravid’s part. World Cup is a big tournament where you need experience, and can’t count on youth as much. According to me, it’s the right decision because Sehwag has a lot of experience and has scored a lot of runs for India,” he had added.
