Hardik Pandya receives get well soon wishes from cricketers after successful back surgery

Pandya underwent a surgery to treat his lower back issue.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya endured a "successful" surgery to treat his lower back issue which has ruled him out of cricket for an indefinite period.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Pandya on Saturday (October 5) posted a picture with the caption reading: "Surgery done successfully. Extremely grateful to everyone for your wishes. Will be back in no time! Till then miss me."

The 25-year-old first picked up the back injury while playing an Asia Cup game against Pakistan in Dubai last year. He recovered to play in the IPL and the World Cup, before the injury resurfaced after the recently held T20I series against South Africa at home.

As soon as he shared the news about his surgery, cricket fans and followers flooded the comment section with "get well soon" messages. The ace all-rounder also received wishes of speedy recovery from his teammates and opposition players.

Pandya was not picked in the India squad for the ongoing three-Test series against the visiting Proteas side. He is likely to miss the T20I against Bangladesh which will be played in India, starting November 3.
