India won the U19 World Cup title for the 4th time.
India became the ICC U19 World Cup champions for the fourth time, as they defeated Aus team in the finals by 8 wickets. It proved to be an encore of the 2012 U19 World Cup tournament.
The Indian bowlers and Manjot Kalra proved to be the heroes for the Indian team. Australia U19 scored 216 runs with Merlo making 76 runs for his team. Indian bowlers shined throughout with Porel, Nagarkoti, Shiva Singh and As Roy picking two wickets each.
Indian batting started cautiously and though they lost Shaw and Gill for 29 and 31 runs respectively, Manjot Kalra remained not out for 101 and kept India on course to a wonderful World Cup victory and he was aided by Harvik Desai, who made 47*.
Cricket fraternity was ecstatic as Prithvi Shaw lifted the World Cup 2018 trophy and India U19 announced itself world champions. They took to Twitter to show their elation and congratulated the Indian U19 team on becoming the U19 champions for the 4th time.
