Sooryavanshi then added 89 runs in 39 balls with Vedant Trivedi for the third wicket, scoring 78 runs in the partnership. He dominated the England U19 bowlers to bring up his century in just 55 balls and became brutal to reach his 150 in just 71 balls.
Sooryavanshi made 175 in 80 balls with 15 fours and 15 sixes to his name, and when he got out, India was 251/3 in 25 overs. England managed to pull back a lot as India managed only 161 runs in the next 25 overs to finish on 411/9 in 50 overs. Abhigyan Kundu (40) and Kanishk Chouhan (37* in 20 balls) led the late charge.
In response, Ben Dawkins made 66, and Ben Mayes made 44, while Thomas Rew looked good for his 31. But the total proved to be too much, as England U19 lost wickets at regular intervals. Caleb Falconer starred with 115 in 67 balls with 9 fours and 7 sixes as they were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs. RS Ambrish took 3/56, while Deepesh Devendran and Kanish Chouhan took two wickets each.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was named the Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament as well. This was India’s sixth U19 World Cup win in 10 appearances in the final.
