India Women defeated South Africa in the final on November 2 to win the Women's World Cup.
Sneh Rana, who was part of the Indian squad that won the Women’s World Cup 2025, revealed that the team got very emotional seeing ex-India captain Rohit Sharma’s reaction to their tournament win.
Notably, Rohit Sharma was India's captain when they lost to Australia in the final of the ICC World Cup in 2023, which was also played in November in Ahmedabad.
This time, Rohit and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, watched the entire game from the stands. But as the women's team made history, he lost control of his feelings and even started crying.
During a recent interview, Sneh Rana, a member of the World Cup-winning squad, revealed that Rohit's presence at the Dr DY Patil Stadium made the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side feel even more emotional.
"Woh abhi just hamara final dekhne aaye the. He was very emotional, and unko dekh ke hum bhi bahut zyada emotional ho gaye the. He had just come to watch our final. He was very emotional, and seeing him, we also became extremely emotional," Rana told FilmyGyan.

Reacting to the video, Rana wished that the Indian men's team could lift the 2027 World Cup title, having suffered heartbreak in the previous edition.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is in 2024 and Test cricket in 2025 and was also replaced as India’s ODI captain by Shubman Gill. He made his India comeback in the ODI series against Australia and won the Player of the Series after scores of 8, 73, and 121* in the three ODIs.
The 38-year-old will now be seen in action during the upcoming ODI series at home against South Africa, starting November 30.
