Team India are having a great time in the shortest format of the game after their disappointing T20 World Cup 2021 campaign.

Notably, Virat Kohli stepped down as T20I captain following the T20 World Cup in UAE and Rohit Sharma took charge of the side.

Under Rohit, the Men in Blue are yet to lose a game since November 2021. They won two T20I series in a row against New Zealand and West Indies and now stand on the verge of winning another when they take on Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Dharamsala on Saturday (February 26).

The second game against Sri Lanka also offers Rohit a chance to create a magnificent T20I world record.

Having led India to 15 wins in 16 matches at home in the shortest format, Rohit is currently tied with England's Eoin Morgan and New Zealand's Kane Williamson. However, a victory in Dharamsala will mean Rohit will become the T20I captain with most wins at home.

Overall, Rohit has led the country to 22 wins in 26 matches as T20I captain. Team India have won their last 10 T20Is and a victory in Dharamsala would also guarantee not just a 11th successive win but also a third successive series victory for Sharma as full-time skipper.

Apart from the captaincy, Rohit can also achieve a milestone as batter in the second T20I against Sri Lanka. The right-handed opener is 19 runs short of completing 1000 runs as T20I captain. He had the opportunity of equalling Babar Azam's record of being the fastest (26 innings) to the feat as captain, but was dismissed for 44 in the first T20I.

Now, Rohit has the chance to achieve this landmark for the second spot. Among the Indian captains, he can still become the fastest as Virat Kohli currently holds the record of amassing 1000 runs in 30 innings.
