IND v SL 2022: Deepak Chahar ruled out Sri Lanka T20Is due to hamstring injury- Report

Chahar had suffered a hamstring injury during the 3rd T20I against West Indies.

Fast bowler Deepak Chahar has been reportedly ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka, which begins in Lucknow on February 24, 2022. This is due to a hamstring injury that he suffered during the 3rd T20I against West Indies.

The in-form bowler had suffered the injury during the third T20 International against West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday, after bowling 1.5 overs. His over was completed by Venkatesh Iyer and now it remains to be seen whether he will be fit in time for the IPL 2022 which begins after the Sri Lanka tour.

"He is ruled out of the series and will complete his rehab at NCA. The team has sought no replacement as vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah is already in the side,” said a BCCI official.

The second and third T20Is will be played in Dharamsala on February 26 and 27 respectively.
