Ireland and UAE on Tuesday (February 22) qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, slated to be held in Australia later this year.

While Ireland defeated Oman by 56 runs in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, UAE thrashed Nepal by 68 runs in the last-four clash to book their spot at this year's T20 World Cup.

With this result, Ireland and UAE have now joined Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the West Indies in the First Round of the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

The final two spots for the showpiece event will be filled via a qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe in June/July.

The group winners and runners-up of the first round will then join defending champions Australia, England, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage.

The 2022 edition ICC Men's T20 World Cup starts from October 16 and will conclude on November 13. Seven cities, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, will host the matches with the final to be played at the iconic MCG.
