Jadeja criticized selectors for not picking Vihari for New Zealand Tests.
Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja has criticized the BCCI selectors after they omitted Hanuma Vihari from the India squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand, starting on November 25 in Kanpur.
He questioned the Chetan Sharma-led selection committee’s decision to overlook Vihari for the upcoming home Test series against New Zealand despite his impressive overseas performances.
Notably, Vihari has been constantly performing well for India but hasn't played a single Test match at home since making his debut in 2018 and during the last Australia tour, he played through an injury to save the Test match with R Ashwin in Sydney.

Jadeja told Cricbuzz, “Vihari, poor guy. He did well. He has been with Indian cricket for a while, done well. What has he done wrong? Why should he go to India A tour, why can't he play a Test match at home? Or don't send him on A tour also. Somebody who has been with the team, now goes to India A tour and a new guy comes in. That's messing with people's minds.”
Meanwhile, the former cricketer is confident that Team India will pose a stiff challenge against New Zealand in the upcoming Test series and it will be interesting to see how the Kiwis play spin.
He signed off by saying, “I don't expect anything but turners that we have seen. Last few series at home, we have seen pitches that were not Test standard. New Zealand will be tested with their skills how to play spin. I have no doubt India will send them packing.”
