Team India bowled out the Kiwis for 111 to win the third T20I by 73 runs.
In the dead-rubber fixture at Eden Gardens, the hosts piled up a massive 184/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 32-ball 56 while Ishan Kishan (29), Shreyas Iyer (25), Deepak Chahar (21), and Venkatesh Iyer (20) chipped in with handy twenties.
Left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who was leading the Kiwis in this game, returned with impressive bowling figures of 3-27 for his side.
In reply, New Zealand’s innings folded for 111 in 17.2 overs. It was a listless batting performance as eight of them got out for a single-digit score. Apart from Martin Guptill (51), no one managed to touch the 20-run mark.
For India, left-arm spinner Akshar Patel starred with the ball, claiming three wickets by conceding only 9 runs in his three overs. Pacer Harshal Patel (3-26) also picked up two scalps in his three overs while Venkatesh Iyer (1-12), Yuzvendra Chahal (1-26), and Deepak Chahar (1-26) chipped in with wicket apiece.
Cricket fraternity lauded Rohit Sharma and company for inflicting a series whitewash over the BlackCaps with a dominating victory in the third T20I.
