India recorded another clinical win by seven wickets in Ranchi on Friday (November 19) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. The game followed a similar pattern to the previous game which India won by five wickets in Jaipur.

Rohit Sharma won the toss again and opted to bowl first with heavy dew already formed on the ground. New Zealand got a great start of 64/1 in the first six overs but thereafter run-scoring became difficult for the visitors as R Ashwin (1/19), Akshar Patel (1/26) and debutant Harshal Patel (2/25) put a break on the scoring rate.

New Zealand eventually finished with 153/6 as Glenn Phillips top scored with 34, while openers Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell scored 31 each.

India were once again given a great start from vice-captain KL Rahul (65) and the captain Rohit Sharma (55) as the duo put on 117 for the opening wicket in 13.2 overs. Both fell in quick succession and Suryakumar Yadav suffered a rare failure but Venkatesh Iyer and Rishabh Pant completed the formalities with 16 balls to spare.

During New Zealand's innings, one of the fans in attendance managed to breach the security at the ground, and reached close to Rohit. The fan lied down on the ground and folded his hands to Rohit who tried to handle the tricky situation.

Scenes like these are familiar at some grounds in India as fans try to get closer to their idols. The fan eventually tried to run back before the security officials caught hold of him and took him outside the playing area.
