Rohit Sharma's first assignment as full-time T20I captain is against New Zealand.
Indian cricket team will be led by Rohit Sharma in the T20I format as Virat Kohli felt the need of putting off some responsibility from his back. Rohit, who has captained the side in past, is going to take over the role full-time against New Zealand on Wednesday (November 17).
A tweet of Rohit is going viral on Twitter before the first T20I between India and the Blackcaps, which is scheduled to be played in Jaipur. Interestingly, the tweet of the India skipper from 9 years back fits perfectly for the current scenario.

“Touched down on Jaipur, and yes I will be leading the side, looking forward to the added responsibility,” Rohit had tweeted. He led Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team for the first time back in 2012, in Jaipur.
Ahead of the first T20I, Rohit spoke about the way ahead in the press conference. "Template is a very important one and we need to set it right," he said.
"We've got some time to do that. India has been brilliant in this format, it's just that we haven't won the ICC tournament. We've played well and performed well as a team. Of course, there are little holes we need to fill and make sure they're looked after. That will be the biggest challenge we'll have as a team.
"There are holes in every team but you try and maximize what you have. I'm not going to say that we're going to follow a certain team's template. We have to create our own template, see what's best and right for tour team," he added.
