India and Australia clashed in the second match of the five-T20I series on November 26, 2023, in Thiruvananthapuram. India led the series 1-0, with a brilliant win in Vizag a couple of days ago, coming into this match.
Matthew Wade won the toss and chose to bowl first. Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa came into the Australia XI for Aaron Hardie and Jason Behrendorff respectively. India came into the match with the same XI.
The highlight of the Indian innings was the top three scoring fifties. Yashasvi Jaiswal set the pace with 53 in 25 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes, including a 24-run over off Sean Abbott. Then Ishan Kishan hammered 52 in 32 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad made 58 with 3 fours and 2 sixes, as he anchored one end.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav made 19 in 10 balls, but the star of the Indian innings proved to be Rinku Singh once again. The left-hander hammered 31* in 9 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes as India posted an imposing 235/4 in 50 overs. Nathan Ellis for Australia took 3/45.
But once these two fell, the fight of the Australian team ended as despite Matthew Wade’s 42* in 23 balls with 4 sixes and one four, they finished with 191/9. For India, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi picked three wickets each.
With this 44-run win, India went up 2-0 in the five-T20I series. Yashasvi Jaiswal got the Player of the Match for his fifty and two catches.
The next match between the two sides will be played in Guwahati on November 28.
