The catch was grabbed in the 14th over of Afghanistan’s chase.
Prince Yadav took a sensational catch on his India debut to dismiss Ibrahim Zadran for 21 runs during the second ODI against Afghanistan at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday (June 17).
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled a sharp, chest-level bouncer that tempted Zadran into playing a pull shot in the 14th over of Afghanistan’s chase.
Fielding in the deep, Prince sprinted in rapidly and made a full-length dive to complete a clean catch. The debutant made a difficult catch look so easy that Arshdeep literally bowed down to him on the field to thank him for tracking down the ball.

While Prince Yadav made an instant impact in the field, his luck with the ball was much harsher. During the 7th over of Afghanistan’s innings, he thought he had claimed his maiden international wicket when Rahmanullah Gurbaz miscued a shot. However, the celebratory moment was abruptly cut short when replays revealed Prince had overstepped, resulting in a marginal no-ball call that overturned the dismissal.
Earlier, Shubman Gill slammed a sublime 154 off 110 balls while Ishan Kishan (125 off 79 balls) also struck a fine hundred as the hosts racked up a mammoth 402 runs on the board.
Amid the carnage, Rashid Khan returned with the impressive figures of 3 for 48 in his eight overs for Afghanistan.
