During the third ODI against England, out-of-favor India all-rounder Shardul Thakur cheekily revealed that veteran batter Rohit Sharma was using his bat during his knock in the recent 3rd ODI between England and India at Lord’s on July 19.

India lost the game by 27 runs and the series 1-2, but Rohit Sharma's innings was particularly noteworthy, as the seasoned player struck a stunning hundred at the storied Lord's. His 138 runs with 17 fours and 5 sixes kept India in the chase of the huge 388-run target.

During Rohit’s innings, the camera caught "Shardul Thakur" written on the bottom of the bat that Rohit Sharma was using, and Shardul Thakur confirmed the same while commentating when asked by his fellow commentator Vivek Razdan.

"Yeh mera hi balla hai. Comm box mai baithe baithe maine yaha pe Bharat ko shuruat toh de di hai, Rohit ke roop mein. Aap mujhe Bharathiya team se bahar nahi rakh sakte. Yeh dekhiye. Aap hi padh lijiye (This is my bat). Sitting in the commentary box, I have given India a start in the form of Rohit. You cannot keep me out of the Indian team. Look at this. You can read for yourself," Shardul said on Sony Sports.

Rohit Sharma’s knock and fifties by Shubman Gill (77) and Virat Kohli (74) went in vain as India could only manage 360/7 in 50 overs in reply to England’s 387/3. Ben Duckett had made 141, while Sam Curran took four wickets for England.

Instead, Jacob Bethell got the Player of the Match for his 91 runs and one wicket, while Joe Root got the Player of the Series.
