Shresta Iyer, sister of India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer, has made a huge claim and compared his captaincy with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and others, after Iyer-led India succumbed to their worst-ever T20I defeat in Nottingham by 125 runs on July 7.

Chasing a 202-run target to win the game, only three Indian batters reached double figures as India was bowled out for 76 runs and lost the game by 125 runs. England went 0-2 up in the five-match series, with two more games to go.

This loss meant that Shreyas Iyer is yet to see a win in his captaincy tenure, having lost two games to Ireland and now two to England, with one T20I getting rained out.

In a video that went viral on social media, Shresta expressed faith that her brother would go on to become one of India's best captains and begged fans not to judge him only based on recent losses.

"Shubman Gill ho, Virat Kohli toh … legend, Rohit Sharma legend … again, Sachin Tendulkar legend. Ye logon ne bhi kaafi saare matches lose kiye hain. But agar aap sirf Shreyas Iyer, Shreyas Iyer hi bolte rahoge, toh maybe aapko kuch to kuch to problem hai... but I feel that he is amazing. He is a very different personality overall.

I think he has a lot to give. Unke jitna aur kisi ke paas nahi hai. Unke paas itna kuch dene ke liye hai. Aur coming time bahut jaldi aane wala hai, woh time bahut jaldi aayega, jab ye bolenge ki Shreyas Iyer is one of the best captains of India. I believe it is already happening," Shresta told Filmygyan.

Trailing 0-2, India must win the fourth T20I against England in Bristol on Thursday, July 9, to keep the five-match series alive.
