Varun Chakaravarthy will miss Ireland T20Is due to foot injury he sustained during IPL 2026.
The three matches will be played in Edgbaston, Sophia Gardens, and Lord’s and will be part of the Indian team’s preparation for the 2027 ICC World Cup.
The Indian ODI squad sees Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as the two openers, with Ishan Kishan being named as the second wicket-keeper and possible backup opener. Virat Kohli has been named in the squad, but his availability is subject to fitness.
Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul for the pure batting unit. Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy are the three all-rounders in the India ODI squad. Kuldeep Yadav has been named as the lone proper spinner.
Jasprit Bumrah returns for the fold in ODIs and will lead the pace attack comprising Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Gurnoor Brar, and Arshdeep Singh.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a brilliant century in the recent third ODI against Afghanistan, was left out of the squad for the England ODIs.
The BCCI also added that Varun Chakaravarthy, the ace spinner, has been ruled out of the Ireland T20I series as he is in the final stages of his rehab.
“Varun Chakravarthy is in the final stages of his rehab at the BCCI COE following his left foot injury sustained in the TATA IPL 2026. He is ruled out of the T20I series against Ireland,” BCCI stated.
