Pant scored 125* and added 133 runs with Hardik Pandya (71) to rescue India from 72/4.
The series decider third ODI between England and India at Old Trafford in Manchester saw the Rohit Sharma-led side thumping the hosts by 5 wickets.
The game also saw Indian wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, playing his best ODI knock and smashing his maiden ton in this format. The southpaw smashed unbeaten 125 runs and made sure that he take his team past the finishing line.
Pant came to bat when India saw themselves tumbling at 21/2 and then were reduced to 72/4. The 24-year-old played according to the situation and anchored the innings at first, which allowed Hardik Pandya to play freely.

But once he got settled he tonked English bowlers to all over the park and also stitched 133 runs partnership with Pandya, who scored 71 runs. The keeper batter smashed 16 fours and 2 sixes in his innings of unbeaten 125 runs.
He finished the game in style for his side as he hit 6 fours in the last 7 balls of the match and helped his side clinch the series by the margin of 2-1. Pant’s innings made many stand and applaud him including skipper Rohit.
After Pant reversed sweep Joe Root for a four to finish the match, he looked towards the dressing room where captain Rohit Sharma was all smiles as he gave a thumbs-up reaction to the youngster.
The southpaw responded to the gesture in a similar manner and the moment was cherished by many.
