India won the T20I series 2-1.
Jos Buttler had won the toss and chose to bat first this time. Phil Salt and Reece Topley were included in the XI for Sam Curran and Matt Parkinson.
India, on the other hand, made four changes as Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, and Ravi Bishnoi came in for Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Dawid Malan was the top-scorer for the England side, as he slammed 77 in 39 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes to his name. He got good support from Liam Livingstone, who made 42* with 4 sixes to his name. Other major contributors were Jason Roy (27), Harry Brook (19), and Jos Buttler (18), as England slammed 215/7 in 20 overs.
For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel, both took 2 wickets finishing with figures of 2/30 and 2/35 respectively.
India didn’t start off well as Rohit Sharma (11), Rishabh Pant (1) and Virat Kohli (11) fell early in the chase of 216 runs.
But then England bounced back by dismissing Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, and Ravindra Jadeja for cheap putting pressure on Suryakumar. He completed his century in 48 balls but fell for 117 in 55 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes to his name in the penultimate over.
England finished off the match as they won by 17 runs, with Reece Topley taking 3/22, David Willey and Chris Jordan taking 2 wickets each.
Despite the loss, India pocketed the three-match T20I series 2-1.
Though India lost the match, Suryakumar Yadav was unanimously praised on social media by the cricket fraternity for his amazing century.
