Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant proved to be the highest run-getter for Leicestershire in the ongoing four-day practice game between the County side and India at the Grace Road ground.

India had declared their innings at 246/8 overnight with KS Bharat top-scoring with 70*. In reply, Leicestershire made 244 with Rishabh Pant making 76 in 87 balls with 14 fours and 1 six to his name. Apart from him, Rishi Patel and Roman Walker made 34 apiece and opener Louis Kimber made 31.

For India, Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets each, while Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj took 2 apiece.

Pant’s knock took off after he reached 44 and was stuck there for a while. He was particularly harsh against Umesh Yadav whom he slammed for a huge six with just a fine scoop. And then took on Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja.
