The runner-up of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC), Team India, are currently at the top of the WTC standings. They have 14 points after registering their first win of the ongoing second edition of WTC.

India defeated England by 151 runs in the second Test at Lord's. The first Test match of the five-match series, which kicked off the second WTC cycle, had ended in a draw.

The draw at Trent Bridge gave India four points and the victory at Lord’s added 12 points to their tally. Indian cricket team lost two points due to slow over rates.

ICC had penalised England and India for maintaining a slow over-rate during the Test match in Nottingham.

According to the WTC rules, teams cop one-point penalty for each over short. Each match-win is worth 12 points while a tie gives teams six points. Four points are awarded for a drawn result.

Pakistan and West Indies are at number 2 and 3 with 12 points each. Pakistan had defeated West Indies by 109 runs in the second Test to level the series.

India and England will play their third Test match of the series from Wednesday (August 25) at Headingley, Leeds.
