India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has put his team in a brilliant position to win the first Test match against England in Trent Bridge, Nottingham. He picked five wickets in the second innings in addition to the four in the first innings and helped India keep England to 303.

This means India needs 209 runs to win the first Test and go 1-0 up in the five-match series.

This performance from Jasprit Bumrah was a huge confident booster for Team India as he was coming off an off start to the year 2021, with below-par performances against England in the Test series at home and then against New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship in Southampton, where he went wicketless.

Bumrah returned to form with a bang, registering figures of 4/46 and 5/64 to rattle England’s batting line-up in Trent Bridge. Earlier, he had contributed an entertaining 28 runs as well with 3 fours and 1 six.

Not a lot of adjustments to be very honest, just the mindset adjustments. Probably not looking at the end result, being in the moment, trying to back your skills and enjoy the game of cricket,” said Bumrah at the post-day press conference.

There are not a lot of changes that I have made and I am looking to do. I am just trying to improve my game all the time and trying to add new things, at the same time carrying the things that I still have,” he added.

The Gujarat pacer further pointed out that Indian batsmen are not looking too far ahead and would concentrate on playing session by session.

You know when you start playing the game of cricket, you have to believe in yourself that you want to win and play to win, but we don’t want to look too far ahead. We have got a good start and we just want to take session by session. We will go tomorrow morning with a good mindset and hopefully take things from there,” he said.

India ended day 4 at 52/1 with Stuart Broad picking KL Rahul’s wicket and now need 157 more runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
