Apart from Pant, throwdown specialist Dayanand Garani also tested positive for the coronavirus, which forced close contacts Wriddhiman Saha, Abhimanyu Easwaran and bowling coach Bharat Arun to isolate themselves for 10 days. They are also expected to join the squad soon.

BCCI on Thursday, July 22, posted a tweet to welcome Pant back into the team.

The swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman will now begin his preparation and is expected to be part of an intra-squad match that will start on July 28 ahead of the five-match Test series against England, which begins on August 4 in Nottingham.
