All-rounder Hardik Pandya gave his team some relief as he picked the wicket of a well-settled Imam Ul Haq as India and Pakistan squared off in the 12th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad on October 14.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first with over a lakh cheering Indian fans behind him. While Pakistan came in unchanged for this match, India made one change with Shubman Gill replacing Ishan Kishan in the side.

Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique added 41 runs for the first wicket in 8 overs. Shafique was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj for 20, while Imam Ul Haq fell to Hardik Pandya for 36 runs with 6 fours.

The delivery was the third of the 13th over and Hardik Pandya, before starting to run in, interestingly held the ball in his hands and whispered something to the ball. The delivery was short and wide, and Imam tried to play an extensive drive, but ended up edging to KL Rahul behind the stumps.

One of the many replays for that dismissal saw Hardik holding the ball in his hand and uttering a few words before he sprinted off.
