CWC 2023: Fans slam BCCI for 'special treatment' to IND v PAK match after organization of musical event

Arijit Singh and other known singers will perform ahead of the encounter in Ahmedabad.

India and Pakistan will clash in a huge match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 on October 14, Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both the teams have won their first two matches in the tournament.

India has defeated Australia and Afghanistan, while Pakistan got better of the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. Pakistan even created a world record for the highest chase in World Cup history against Sri Lanka.

India and Pakistan have clashed 7 times in the Cricket World Cup before and India holds a 7-0 lead over their rivals.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to organize a pre-match show featuring some of the finest musicians in the country ahead of this high-voltage clash. The musical performances, however, are set to add to its glamour on Saturday.

The singers would be superstars like Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sukhwinder Singh. Though there was no opening ceremony for the Cricket World Cup 2023 clash, the BCCI does have grand plans for the Indo-Pak contest.

 

The pre-match show is scheduled to start at 12:30 PM IST. The match is set to begin at 2:00 PM IST, with the toss taking place half an hour before.

The tickets for this clash were sold out within minutes of being released by the BCCI. Owing to high demand, ICC and BCCI decided to release 14,000 more tickets which were also sold out in less than 30 minutes after the start of online sales.

The tickets are going at the rate of INR 25,000 per ticket on the black market.

However, some fans are extremely angry with the BCCI for giving this ‘special treatment’ to the India v Pakistan match. Netizens have called out BCCI and asked whether such gestures are the need of time.
