Sri Lanka was bowled out for 50 runs as Siraj picked 6/21.
Sri Lanka batted first after Dasun Shanaka won the toss, but the Indian bowlers took full advantage of the moisture in the air due to rain delay.
Mohammed Siraj picked a career-best 6/21 including four wickets in an over as he reduced Sri Lanka to 12/5 at one stage. Jasprit Bumrah had dismissed Kusal Perera in the first over of the match itself.
Only Kusal Mendis (17) and Dushan Hemantha (13*) reached double figures as Hardik Pandya’s 3/3 hastened their end with Sri Lanka scoring just 50 runs in 15.2 overs.
In response, Ishan Kishan (23*) and Shubman Gill (27*) overhauled the 51-run target in just 6.1 overs to win the game for India by 10 wickets and made them 8-time Asia Cup champions.
This was also the second time Rohit Sharma won the Asia Cup title in a 50-over format in what was his 250th ODI.
The cricket fraternity lauded the Indian team for becoming 8-time Asia Cup champions on social media.
