Shaheen Afridi claimed four wickets in Pakistan's Asia Cup clash against India.
The left-arm pacer dismissed star batters Rohit Sharma (11) and Virat Kohli (4) with the new ball. He also took the wickets of India's top-scorer Hardik Pandya (87) and Ravindra Jadeja (14) in the death overs to return with the figures of 4 for 35 in his 10 overs.
Shaheen’s performance left the Pakistani cricket fans elated. Among them were former Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Taking to social media platform X, Shehbaz Sharif wrote: "THEY CANNOT PLAY HIM", referring to Nasser Hussain’s commentary during Shaheen’s terrific spell against India in the T20 World Cup 2021.
For his distasteful post, the former Pakistan PM was brutally trolled by the netizens.
Coming to the match, the Men in Blue were reduced to 66/4 after they won the toss and opted to bat first.
Amid the pressure situation, Ishan Kishan (82 off 81) and Hardik Pandya (87 off 90) stood up and smashed half-centuries to propel India to a competitive 266/10 on the board.
Besides Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf (3/58) and Naseem Shah (3/36) picked up three wickets each for Pakistan to bundle out India in 48.5 overs.
