Dhanashree Verma posts cryptic messages after Yuzvendra Chahal’s snub from Asia Cup 2023 squad

Yuzvendra Chahal’s exclusion from India’s Asia Cup 2023 squad was very surprising given that Rohit Sharma and co went in with three spinners only in Kuldeep Yadav, Akshar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja despite knowing they will be playing their matches in Sri Lanka.

BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar explained that there was place for only one wrist-spinner in the squad and if they had to bring in Chahal as well, it meant dropping a seamer, which they couldn’t afford due to workload management for the next two months.

It is worth mentioning that Chahal was benched for all three matches of the ODI series against the West Indies. The senior leg-spinner has played only two ODIs so far this year.

After his exclusion, Chahal had posted a cryptic message on social media platform X, using sun emojis, implying that his sun will rise again.

And now his wife Dhanashree Verma took to social media a day after Chahal was snubbed from the Asia Cup squad and posted a couple of stories on her Instagram account.

She stated: “Now I have started to question this on a serious note. If being super submissive & introverted can be harmful for your work growth? Or do we all have to be an extrovert & street smart savvy to grow in life?"  

In the other story she mentioned: “In the end, it is between you and your god. And fortunately, the world is with you. Thankful, God is great.”

This is not the first time, Chahal has missed out on important multi-nation tournaments, as he was not picked for the T20 World Cup tournaments in 2021 and 2022 as well.
