India lost a close encounter to Pakistan on Sept 4 in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 tournament’s Super 4s stage in Dubai. Despite putting up 181/7 on the board, Indian bowlers failed to defend it as Pakistan won by 5 wickets with one ball to spare.

Mohammad Rizwan (71) and Mohammad Nawaz (42) were the main scorers for Pakistan in a thrilling match.

Earlier, Virat Kohli had made 60 in 44 balls to anchor and propel the Indian innings to their final total after opener Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul (28 runs each) had given a flying start to the Men in Blue innings.

But India kept losing wickets at regular intervals as the middle order failed to come to the party.

Meanwhile, the intensity and mind games that are expected from an India-Pakistan game were seen fully as Shadab Khan and Mohammad Rizwan were seen verbally antagonizing Suryakumar Yadav during his short stay at the crease.

The incident took place in the middle overs when Suryakumar Yadav walked out to bat after the dismissal of KL Rahul. Shadab wanted Suryakumar to cut his balls outside off stump but failed on consecutive occasions and an over-enthusiastic Mohammad Rizwan appealed on both occasions.

As Suryakumar walked down the wicket to have a chat with Kohli, both Shadab and Rizwan had a go at him. However, the Indian batter maintained his composure and did not get unsettled.
