Manjrekar and Jadeja share a not so good history.
During the 2019 World Cup, Manjrekar had called Jadeja a "bits and pieces cricketer" and Jadeja had retorted back on social media asking the former cricketer to stop his verbal diarrhea. After that as well, Manjrekar kept criticizing Jadeja’s gameplay and sometimes even questioned his place in the team.
However, recently, when Jadeja played a crucial knock of 35 in India’s 5-wicket win over Pakistan, Manjrekar got to interview the Saurashtra all-rounder and Manjrekar’s first question to him was “. "First question - You are ok to talk to me? Right, Jaddu?”
Jadeja smiled and said: "Yeah, yeah (laughs). Absolutely!!"
Now Manjrekar’s fellow presenter during the Asia Cup, Mayanti Langer didn’t let go of a chance to troll the senior commentator using Ravindra Jadeja during a chat ahead of the Afghanistan-Bangladesh clash on Tuesday.
Manjrekar, Langer, and Scott Styris were discussing the India-Pakistan match and the slow over rate. Manjrekar shared a simple suggestion for teams to avoid the penalty like India and Pakistan both had to endure with an extra fielder inside the 30-yard circle in the last few overs.
"I have a very quick solution and a very simple tactic. Just bowl your overs quicker," he quipped.
This is when Mayanti Langer chipped in with a hilarious interjection. She said: "Sanjay, not everyone is Ravindra Jadeja. I had to do it."
Manjrekar, surprised at first by the comment, was quick to reply, saying "good one".
