India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets on Sunday in Dubai.
India and Pakistan clashed in a thrilling match on Sunday (August 28) with the Rohit Sharma-led side prevailing by five wickets with two balls to spare. It was an edgy game that fluctuated several times before Hardik Pandya scored the winning runs.
Pakistan batted first after losing the toss and could only muster 147 in 19.5 overs as Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4/26), Hardik Pandya (3/25) and Arshdeep Singh (2/33) shared the wickets on a pitch that had something for the bowlers. Mohammad Rizwan top-scored with 43 but had to battle for 42 balls.
India's batters also struggled in front of some inspired bowling by Naseem Shah (2/27) but Virat Kohli (35), Ravindra Jadeja (35) and Hardik (33*) took the side over the line to start their campaign on a winning note against the arch-rivals.
After the match, Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf got himself a signed India jersey from Virat, who incidentally played his 100th T20I for India yesterday, also becoming the second player to play in 100 or more matches in all three formats.

BCCI shared the clip on their social media handles and captioned the post as, “The match may be over but moments like these shine bright. A heartwarming gesture by @virat.kohli as he hands over a signed jersey to Pakistan's Haris Rauf post the #INDvPAK game.”
For those unaware, Rauf had also asked MS Dhoni for his autographed CSK jersey during the T20 World Cup 2021 where he was with the Indian team as a mentor.
The former Indian captain sent over the jersey after some time to the Pakistani pacer which he happily shared on his social media handles, saying, “The legend & capt cool @mahi7781 has honored me with this beautiful gift his shirt. The "7" still winning hearts through his kind & goodwill gestures. Russel Thank you so much for kind of support.”
