The upcoming 16th edition of the Asia Cup is all set to get underway on August 27 with Afghanistan taking on Sri Lanka in the opening clash at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, UAE.

In the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, Afghanistan is placed alongside Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Group B, while India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong are in Group A.

Ahead of the start of the T20 tournament, Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan heaped praise on India’s Suryakumar Yadav. Rashid believes that Suryakumar, considering his ability to score against both spinners and pacers and his recent form with the bat, can score big runs in the Asia Cup.

The Indian batter, who is widely called a 360-player, is currently the second-ranked batter in the ICC T20I rankings and the Afghan spinner said that his talent and skill could help him finish as one of the highest run-getters in the T20 tournament in the UAE.

Rashid Khan told Pakistani journalist Sawera Pasha in a video uploaded on her YouTube channel: “He is a brave player. The way he has performed in the IPL and for the Indian team, he has shown his skill and talent. He is one player who can score big runs in the Asia Cup.”

He concluded, “He is one player who is always positive and he always stays busy at the crease. He always tries to keep performing for the team. Bowling to him in the IPL used to be tough. It was a healthy competition. I am so excited to bowl to him when he steps out onto the field for India.”
