India completed a 3-0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe on July 26, 2026, as they won the third and final T20I by 35 runs. This game was played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, and India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first.

Abhishek Sharma failed again, scoring just 2 runs. Then Ishan Kishan (29) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added 75 runs for the second wicket. Shreyas Iyer made 27, while Sooryavanshi fell short of a well-deserved century. He made 81 in 49 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Rinku Singh’s 25 in 14 balls propelled India to 192/5 in 20 overs.

In response, Ryan Burl made 54* and Wessly Madhevere made 28; however, good bowling from India ensured Zimbabwe made only 157/7 and lost the game by 35 runs. Mayank Yadav picked 3/29, and Yash Thakur took 2 wickets.

With this win, India pocketed the series 3-0 as Shreyas Iyer won his first T20I series as India captain. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi won the Player of the Match and Player of the Series, his first in international cricket, and talked about his knock in the post-match presentation.

It felt really good. Our preparation was very good during the two or three days after we arrived in Harare. I also played the Under-19 World Cup here, so I really enjoy playing at this venue. Everyone backed me—the captain, the coaches, everyone—so I'm very happy.

My game is the same as what I play in T20 cricket. I was just trying to do that for the team. In all three matches, I tried to give the team a good start. If I got a good start, then I wanted to make the innings bigger. That was my only approach,” Sooryavanshi said after getting his maiden Player of the Match and Series award.

He said that winning the Player of the Match and Series award was like a dream come true.

The shots that I play are the same ones I practice. I just try to replicate in the match whatever I do in the practice sessions. Yes, it's truly a dream-come-true moment. Getting my first Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards, I'm very happy,” Sooryavanshi concluded.

Sooryavanshi made 151 runs at a strike rate of 196.10, with two fifties and a best score of 81. He hit 15 fours and 9 sixes.
