Australia defeated Pakistan by 115 runs in Lahore Test to clinch the series 1-0.
Both the teams came into the third Test in Lahore with the series levelled at 0-0 after the first two matches ended in a draw.
In the third Test, Australia took a bold decision and declared their second innings on 227/3 to set a target of 351 for Pakistan.
The hosts were 73/0 at the close of play on Day 4 and they lost Abdullah Shafique (27) and Azhar Ali’s (17) wickets in the first session on Day 5 to found themselves on 136/2.
However, Australian bowlers bounced back brilliantly in the post-lunch session and ran through the Pakistan middle-order. The home team lost Imam-ul-Haq (70), Fawad Alam (11) and Mohammed Rizwan (0) in quick succession in the second session and went to the Tea break with 190/5 on the board.
The tourists completed the formalities in the final session with the wickets of Babar Azam (55), Sajid Khan (21), Hasan Ali (13), Shaheen Afridi (5) and Naseem Shah (1).
Nathan Lyon (5-83) and Pat Cummins (3-23) starred with the ball in the final innings as Australia bundled out Pakistan for 235 to win the Lahore Test by 115 runs.
Cricket fraternity congratulated Cummins and company on a historic Test series win and also lauded the efforts of the Australian bowlers to bundle out Pakistan on a flat pitch.
