Team India lost to New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final.
Indian cricket team has lost another ICC tournament knockout match and this time it was the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. New Zealand won the inaugural edition of WTC by beating India in the final. Their 8-wicket win came on the reserve day of the final match which saw multiple interruptions due to rain.
Team India haven't won a single ICC tournament since their 2013 Champions Trophy triumph in England. They reached the final of the ICC tournaments numerous times, but couldn't clinch the title.
Twitterati were upset with another heartbreaking defeat and some of them recalled the three title wins under MS Dhoni. Interestingly, on June 23, India had won the Champions Trophy title in 2013.
Kohli has led India to two ICC tournament finals under his captaincy, and unfortunately they went on to lose both. He has been India's limited-overs captain since 2017 when Dhoni had stepped down to play under his leadership.
The ex-India skipper had led Team India to 4 ICC tournament finals and they won three out of them. India had only lost the 2014 T20 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
