Kohli best Test team in the world should be decided by a best-of-three final.
On the reserve sixth day, Kiwi pacers decimated the Indian batting line-up, bowling them out for 170 in their second innings.
Chasing 139 to win, New Zealand rode on skipper Kane Williamson’s 52 not out and Ross Taylor’s unbeaten 47 to overhaul the target with 7.1 overs left in the day.
Addressing the media after the match, India skipper Virat Kohli opined that the best Test team in the world should be decided by a best-of-three final and not a one-off game.

"I am not in absolute agreement of deciding the best Test side in the world over the course of one game. If it is a Test series, it has to be a test of character over three Tests - which team has the ability to come back in the series, or totally blow away the other team. It can't just be pressure applied over two days of good cricket and then you suddenly you are not a good Test side anymore. I don't believe in it," Kohli said in the post-match press conference.
It was an interesting point as India were able to bounce back to win the recent Test series against Australia and England but couldn't do so with the one-off WTC final.
However, former England skipper Michael Vaughan dismissed Kohli's idea, asking how the ICC can fit in three finals amid a packed international calendar.
“Where in the schedule would it fit in ?? Are the IPL going to reduce the year of the final tournament by 2 weeks so it could fit in ? Doubt it ..: Finals are one off games where teams/individuals know they have to deliver … that’s what makes them so great,” Vaughan tweeted.
