Team India will face New Zealand in the final of WTC 2021 at Southampton.
The Indian cricket team is ready to take on New Zealand in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final from June 18.
Former cricketers, Mohammad Kaif and Venkatesh Prasad, on Thursday (June 17) picked their India playing XI ahead of the marquee clash.
Kaif posted a tweet and kept two spinners in his playing XI. He named both R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja while adding that we may see Virat Kohli picking Mohammed Siraj over Jadeja as well.
Kaif wrote that if India goes with only three pacers and one of them gets injured it could be a huge blow in English conditions. "My XI-Gill, Rohit, Pujara, Kohli, Jinx, Pant, Ash, Jadeja, Shami, Ishant, Bumrah", he named his playing XI.

The ex-India batsman further wrote, "But should fear of injury to a pacer during the game like it happened in Aus prompt Kohli to play Siraj for Jadeja? Just 2 fit pacers in Eng conditions, when bowling 1st, could become a problem. #WTCFinal," he added.
Prasad picked a similar playing eleven for Team India and wrote that they have enough depth in both the departments no matter what pitch is provided for the final. He is expecting a high-voltage contest between India and New Zealand.
"My Indian playing 11 for the #WTCFinal is a no-brainier (Rohit, Shubman, Pujara, Virat, Rahane, Pant, Jadeja, Ashwin, Shami, Ishant & Bumrah )," he tweeted.
The former India pacer added, "They have the depth in both batting & bowling irrespective of the pitch. Should be a cracking game."
