Aakash Chopra explained why he wants both Ashwin and Jadeja despite English conditions not assisting the spinners.
Team India have a good number of options for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final with some quality players. The former India batsman Aakash Chopra has shortlisted players who should feature in the playing eleven against New Zealand for the important match.
Chopra would like to see both, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja playing the WTC final in Southampton from June 18. He responded to a fan's question in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

The ex-cricketer said the opposition is a non-Asian team who can get trapped against spinners. "Both of them should be played in my opinion. The opposition team is New Zealand and not an Asian team that plays spin better. Just bite the bullet is what I say, play five bowlers including Jaddu and Ashwin. Both can do well in English conditions also," he said.
Although Chopra accepted that the English condition may not assist the spinners much, but he added that a one-dimensional attack can make batting easy for the opposition.
"Yes, you definitely have in mind that spinners might not get too much help in English conditions but we have seen that batting becomes easy when it becomes a uni-dimensional attack," he further said.
Team India have started outdoor training and the India all-rounder Jadeja had recently posted few pictures of him rolling his arm at the Ageas Bowl.
