Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, Team India are doing wonders lately whether in Test cricket or the limited-overs formats. They are the numero uno Test side and among the top-three ODI and T20I teams in ICC rankings.

Despite such domination, there is one thing missing from the cabinet. Kohli and company have failed to lift an ICC trophy as of now.

No wonder, former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel feels winning the WTC title would be 'big' for Kohli.

India will take on New Zealand in the WTC final in Southampton from June 18-22.

"This is the ultimate format of cricket and everyone wants to become a Test player and now there's a World Cup of Test Championship. Now there is a chance for Virat Kohli, who has been eluded from the ICC trophy. He has led India in a couple of ICC tournaments, but this is big, winning the Test championship would be a big feather in his cap," Parthiv said while speaking on Star Sports show Game Plan.

India’s top cricketers have been out of action since the suspension of IPL 2021 last month while New Zealand players are already getting valuable practice for the WTC final, with the two-match Test series underway against England.

The Indian players and support staff landed in UK on June 3 and they are currently under quarantine in Southampton.

Before leaving for England, captain Virat Kohli addressed a press conference and said that he isn’t too concerned about the limited preparation time that his side will get for the marquee game.

"...look, in the past we have landed in places three days prior even on a proper schedule and have had a hell of a series and hell of competition, so it is all in the head," Kohli said in the pre-departure media conference.

"...it is not the first time we are playing in England, we all know what the conditions are like.

"And even if you are used to the conditions, if you don't enter the field in the right frame of mind, you are going to nick that first ball or you are going to find it tough to pick wickets," he added.
