Hanuma Vihari says Team India can do 'outstanding things' in the WTC final vs New Zealand

Hanuma Vihari will make a comeback to India team after missing home England series due to injury.

Team India batsman Hanuma Vihari says that Virat Kohli-led side is confident going into the ICC World Test Championship final even though they will be facing a difficult opponent in New Zealand. 

The World Test Championship final is set to be played between India and New Zealand at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on June 18-22. 

Team India batsman Hanuma Vihari is all set to make comeback into the squad after missing the home Test series against England due to injury, which he picked up during his incredible knock in the third Test against Australia at Sydney in January. 

Since recovering from the injury the right-handed batsman has played seven matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and is currently playing county championship for Warwickshire where he has managed scores of 0, 8, 32, 52, 8, and 0.

In an interaction with India Today, Hanuma Vihari said that he is trying in the best way possible to prepare for the WTC final. He admitted that playing New Zealand will be challenging but Team India can do outstanding things. 

"I am trying to prepare in the best way possible for the WTC final and the England series. It's going to be interesting and exciting as well for all the Indian fans because it's the first edition of the WTC. 

“We are in the finals and we are playing New Zealand, which is going to be challenging in these conditions, we all know that, but the Indian team can do outstanding things," Hanuma Vihari told India today. 

Vihari further said that Team India would be confident going into the WTC final.

"I am sure that we'll be confident going into the WTC final. I am trying to prepare as best as I can for the WTC and the Test series after that," he said. 

Team India-led by Virat Kohli will enter the bio-bubble on 25th May here in India. to prepare for the upcoming England tour. After the WTC final, Team India will lock horns against Joe Root-led side in a five-Test series, starting 4th August.
