Team India remain No. 1 side after annual update of ICC Test rankings

The Virat Kohli-led side leads the chart with a rating of 121.

Team India retained the top position in the longest format of the game after the annual update of the ICC Test team rankings, released on Thursday (May 13).

Having accumulated 2914 points from 24 Tests, the Virat Kohli-led side leads the chart with a rating of 121.

India’s World Test Championship (WTC) final opponent, New Zealand, hold the second spot with a rating of 120. The Kiwis have amassed 2166 points from 18 matches.

England (109 rating) have moved up a place to attain the third position, while Australia (108 rating) slipped to fourth now.

Pakistan (94 rating) occupy the fifth slot followed by West Indies (84 rating), who have gained two places to sixth.

South Africa (80) and Sri Lanka (78) have dropped a rung each to seventh and eighth positions respectively, whereas Bangladesh (46) and Zimbabwe (35) complete the top 10.

India and New Zealand will lock horns in the inaugural WTC final at Southampton from June 18-22.
