He also insisted India's isn't thinking about World Test Championship final spot.
India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun believes that the Indian cricket team has got pretty healthy bench strength of fast bowlers and spinners who can win the matches both home and away.
India have one of the best bowling attacks in the world cricket and the emergence of the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami enable the nation to have some deadly fast bowlers in its history over the years apart from having some exceptional spinners at the rank.
In the recent times, Team India isn’t badly dependent on their key bowlers, as whoever gets the opportunity, they leaves everyone impressed and wins the games for the country and India’s recent success in Australia is the biggest proof that the national side has a great reserve of bowlers who can win the games both home and away.
In the ongoing four-match Test series between India and England, the bowlers whether be it pacers or spinners, everyone has been making the headlines for their brilliance and Arun feels that Indian bowlers have become a lot more consistent in the last few years and the results are paying off.
According to India Today, Bharat said: “The bowlers are a lot more consistent and the results are paying off. Well, as a coach, you need to build a relationship and my job at NCA [National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru] made it easier. I know most of these bowlers for more than 10 years and that really helps. If you have that understanding, the job becomes easier.”
He added, “I think India has got a pretty healthy bench strength of fast bowlers and spinners and they've [spinners] proved they can come to the party too. We have good spinners and we have a programme for the overall development of the spinners. I think when you're fearless, you're bound to lose a few games, but you don't change your style of play. Yes, we're not worried about the odd loss.”
With the ongoing Test series tied at 1-1 presently, India needs to win the ongoing third Test in Ahmedabad and at least draw the final Test against England to qualify for the World Test Championship final, but the bowling coach insisted that the hosts isn’t thinking about that at the moment.
Arun signed off by saying, “We haven't thought about the WTC final, and we're just thinking about our batting right now.”
