Broad recorded 500 Test wickets on Tuesday.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar congratulated England’s all-time second-highest Test wicket-taker Stuart Broad on his “terrific achievement” to complete 500 Test scalps, as well as, Joe Root and his team on their “emphatic” Test series win over the West Indies.
Broad has on Tuesday (July 28) achieved an incredible milestone by becoming only the fourth pacer and only second Englishman after James Anderson to take 500 wickets in Test history.

The veteran reached the milestone by dismissing Kraigg Brathwaite leg before wicket in the 14th over of the West Indies’ second innings in the series-deciding third Test at the Old Trafford. He took 10 wickets in the game to take his tally to 501 and help England to clinch the Wisden Trophy with a 2-1 series win at home.
He made an astounding comeback from being “frustrated, angry and gutted” after being left out of the first Test as the Nottingham born seamer finished the Test series with amazing figures of 16 wickets at 10.93, including a ten-wicket haul in the final Test at Old Trafford.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the legendary Indian batsman hailed Broad and said the pacer was out on a mission and congratulated both England and the veteran star on their achievement.
Tendulkar wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations to England on their emphatic series win. And like I said earlier, @StuartBroad8 had a spring in his step and was out there on a mission. Congratulations also to him on picking his 500th Test wicket. Terrific achievement! #ENGvWI,”
